Heaven's Very Special Child

A meeting was held quite far from earth,
"It's time
again for another birth."
Said the Angels to the Lord
above,
"This special child will need much love."
His
progress may seem very slow,
Accomplishments he may not
show;
And he'll require extra care
From the folks he
meets down there.
He may not run or laugh or play.
His
thoughts may seem quite far away.
In many ways he won't
adapt,
And he'll be known as handicapped.
So let's be
careful where he's sent;
We want his life to be content.
Please, Lord, find the Parents
Who Will do a special
job for You.
They will not realize it right away
The
leading role they're asked to play.
But with this child
sent from above
Comes stronger faith and richer love.
And soon they'll know the privilege given
In caring
for this gift from heaven.
Their precious charge, so meek
and mild
Is Heaven's Very Special Child.

The Shortest Journey The sweetest moments to
recall,
stay locked within our minds...
those moments
with our children,
(by far the sweetest kind)
To see
our children learning
and growing more each day...
these moments are so precious
and too soon they slip
away.
We hold the memories tightly
and time does not
impair...
the bond between a mother
and the children
in her care.
It seems before we know it,
we blink and
they are grown...
from childhood to adulthood;
the
shortest journey ever known.

The Children
They laugh with excitement
They cry with sadness
They play with enjoyment
They need mommy.
They see
what we show them
They learn what we teach them.
We
are their leaders, so why is everyone away from their
children.
They need us to hold them,
They need us to
console them
They need us to praise them
THEY JUST
NEED US TO RAISE THEM.

My Baby
Ten little fingers, ten little toes -
Rosy little lips, and a button nose.
So soft and
cuddly with a baby sweet smell.
Eyes so full of trust that
I just can't fail.
I know a gift of God you had to be -
How else could something so perfect come to me?
You
wiggle and snuggle, gurgle and coo -
Do you know of all
the love in my heart for you?
Your eyes are getting heavy,
as off to Dreamland you go -
To dream of teddy bears,
kittens,
and your Mother's love, I know.
I hold you
close, and look at you with awe-
as a little silent prayer
I say --
"Thank you God, and please help me mold
this
little life the right way."
I put you in your crib so
gently, and
turn to blink away the tears.
You're my
baby now, but I know it's
just for a few short years.

Momma's Surprise
Mommas got a big surprise,
but I don't think it's for me.
It's little, and it's
wrinkly, and it smells real bad,
and I heard her call it
"baby".
I don't know what she paid for it,
how much
that weird thing cost.
But with all the mess and the noise
it makes,
I'd say momma got ripped off!
Momma says
that it's a special gift,
what we've been praying for so
long.
But I think that God made a BIG mistake,
cause
what I asked for was a dog!!

Practice
climate control
Sure, 72 degrees
Fahrenheit sounds comfy for a bedroom. And that's true -
when you're awake. But the ideal sleeping temperature is
between 60 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit. That's because
sleep follows on the heels of a sharp drop in body
temperature, which is also why a bath before bed helps
kids nod off faster. The bath gets your child nice and
toasty and then the cool room causes his body
temperature to drop, which brings on
sleepiness.
So, nudge the thermostat down at
least an hour before bedtime. If you're forgetful,
install an automatic thermostat. Program it to drop in
the evening and rise in the morning, and your child just
might follow suit.
A good source of information on sleep habits and
baby bedding choices.
"Better yet, invest in a
few sleeping sacks or slightly heavier pajamas so that
baby can stay warm without your having to worry about
his kicking covers off or getting them on his face".
